Positive: It was spot on for our cycling weekend. Very spacious and all the amenities you'd expect. Very peaceful location. Given the relative remoteness, the internet was really good. Good heating and hot water. With a car very easy to get to all the popular local places. The owners were very helpful and communicative.
Negative: There was nothing I didn't like. The directions were very good, but we arrived late at night and whilst we found the road to the property, identifying the actual property wasn't straightforward - but I don't always read instructions! The property is quite remote (it's the Grampians, I get that) you a need to car to go anywhere. It wouldn't be safe to walk to Dunkeld along the main road, but perhaps there are footpaths if you have time. This isn't a criticism, just an observation that may be useful for others,

Positive: We had a fantastic stay at Hatton Lodge, the photos don’t do it justice. The house is lovely surrounded by woodland, cosy interiors, super comfy beds and the kitchen has all the amenities you need. The woods around it are so special, particularly the wildlife reserve nearby, and Dunkeld is very cute.
Negative: This is so so minor- the en-suite bathroom could do with some hooks for towels.

Positive: Thoughtfully equipped. Responsive, helpful owners. Woodland walk straight out of the gate.
Negative: The lane to approach is a gravel track with huge chunks of granite. Ended up with a flat tyre. The lodge said it was dog friendly but when you arrived the notes said no dogs upstairs or in bedrooms. The lounge was upstairs and no comfy chair to sit downstairs. The stairs were open tread varnished wood so very slippery. We slipped a few times. The main en-suite has no shelves to put your toiletries and the bed has no headboard and Is on wheels so moves every time you move and you lose your pillows a lot. Definitely in need of comfier mattresses and would benefit from better quality cotton bedding. No phone reception unless you have Wi-Fi calling on your phone.

Positive: We loved everything about this Lodge. The photos don't do it justice. So clean, comfortable, well equipped, lovely people that stay in contact if needed for any reason. The location is amazing - could hear a pin drop. We absolutely cannot wait to return.
